DeGe - Deployable Getaway for the International Space Station (ISS) - Deployable Crew-Quarter-Cabin and Sleep-/Work-Equipment for Temporary Use on ISS and for Future Applications in 0-Gravity Environments

The Deployable Getaway (DeGe) is a deployable crew quarter, which can be unfolded into an astronaut’s crew cabin using a "folding box principle". In folded configuration two of them can be stored in one International Standard Payload Rack on ISS. The size of the unfolded cabin corresponds to those of the crew-quarter cabins actually in use. In contrast to the integrated existing cabins the DeGe can be positioned at any suitable location on ISS.

ENVICHANGE - 4D Information Products for the Monitoring of Environmental Changes Based on LiDAR- and Satellitedata

The project ENVICHANGE as proposed here intends i) to identify the possibilities of analysing spatial features for monitoring land cover and essential infrastructure facilities based on high-resolution satellite and LiDAR data and ii) to implement methods for its operational generation. The possibility of fully or partially automated information extraction is evaluated based on user requirements of corresponding federal authorities and infrastructure operators.

EO-KDZ (EO-CCD) - Development of an Earth Observation Based Regional Centre for Crisis Data

The project aimed at conceptually designing an earth observation based regional centre for crisis data, which integrates all relevant components of geoinformation. One task of the centre is the rapid acquisition, processing and analysis of satellite data and mobile mapping data in the field of natural disasters and civil protection.

EO-KDZ - Implementation of an Earth-Observation Based Regional Crisis Data Center

In the frame of the project "EO-KDZ" (Earth Observation Krisendatenzentrum) it was intended to conceptually design and technically implement a regional and Earth observation based centre for crisis data. This mobile centre is characterised by several components of geoinformation, which are collected, analysed and value added near or in the affected areas.

EO-NatHaz - Assessment of Potential Damage and Risk Exposure Caused by Natural Hazards with Earth Observation

EO-NatHaz has the objective to explore and exploit the utility of novel space based remote sensing techniques - on the one hand for the assessment of potential damages and economic losses and on the other hand for the derivation of risk exposures due to natural hazards.

EO-TEN - Earth Observation Applications for Trans European Networks

EO-TEN has the objective to increase the operational application potential of innovative Earth observation (EO) methods having a realistic market potential in Austria and Europe for EIAs and SEAs. The focus is on improving and advancing EO methods and derived products serving to protect the environment, the population and the infrastructure itself and to develop a sustainable service component serving EIAs and SEAs.

EPRIS - Evaluation of positioning technologies for the provision of value added services within River Information Services

EPRIS contains testing conventional and future planned positioning technologies in RIS environment to identify a "best practice"-method which is able to fulfil commercial requirements (transport management) as well as nautical and administrative requirements - navigation requirements (traffic management) related to RIS. Focus has been laid on new services (e.g. EGNOS, GALILEO) in order to consider these kinds of services in the migration paths underelaboration for the 2nd generation of River Information Services.

ExoMars PanCam 3D - Three Dimensional Vision for the Panoramic Camera on ExoMars Rover

ESA’s ExoMars Rover Mission, is scheduled for launch in 2013 and landing on the Red Planet in late 2014 to search for signs of past and present life on Mars. One important scientific sensor is a panoramic imaging system (PanCam) mounted on the ExoMars Rover Mast. It consists of a wide angle multispectral stereo pair and a high resolution monoscopic camera.

FEEP Cluster - Generic FEEP Cluster Qualification

The goal of this research task is to demonstrate the long operating capabilities required for such missions that may exceed several thousands of hours as well as to build a cluster of several emitters that can still be operated by a single high voltage power supply. This cluster has to comply with increasing thrust demands by the satellites.

FLIXDATE - Floating Ski Data by GNSS

The FLIXDATE project intends to develop a demonstration system for alpine ski sport traffic analysis, traffic routing and collision avoidance on ski slopes. Detection of dangerous zones and management of ski traffic based on floating ski data lead to increased safety and traffic performance on ski slopes.

FarmSupport - Assessing the Potential of Farmer Mobile Information Services for Agricultural Decision Support

FarmSupport aims at developing a proof-of-concept application that will provide farmers in Ethiopia and Kenya with weather forecasts and soil moisture information. This information service is intended to help farmers in making agricultural decisions. Weather information is of value to farmers, but has suffered in the past due to problems with getting the information to the farmer.
