International Forum for Geoinformatics - GI_Salzburg23
Organizer
University of Salzburg - Department of Geoinformatics - Z_GIS
Content Description
In recent years, we have repeatedly addressed the shift from spatial data infrastructures (GDI) to Geoinformatic ecosystems as a new paradigm. These "ecosystems" convey the fundamental concepts of a dynamic, highly networked Digital Earth that reacts flexibly to the framework conditions of a changing environment.
Open, stable and adaptive systems are the future of an integrated geoinformatics world. The handling of large amounts of data (Big Data), their thematic analysis, geosimulation and visualization, and communication are the basis for dealing with the challenges of our time. An increasingly important resource in this context are the various services from remote sensing, especially at the European level (Copernicus).

Target Audience
Exchange and interaction characterize the GI_Salzburg. The focus is on connecting science and business, bringing disciplines together and taking an active look into the future together.
The close interaction between symposium and exhibition is the international unique selling point of GI_Salzburg and is not only reflected in the well-known spatial proximity of both, but above all, in the contribution and discussion formats in the program.
Expert talks, focus- and lightning talks, as well as discussion roundtables invite interaction right from the start. Our focus topics serve as conversation starters and bring representatives from business, science and application to discuss the opportunities and challenges ahead.
