European Space Funding

European funding and financing opportunities support research, technology development and innovation in the space sector. Here you will find information on the European Space Agency (ESA) and Space TechEU, the financing programme of the European Investment Bank (EIB).

European Space Agency : The European Space Agency (ESA) is an international organisation with 22 member states (status 2019). Austria has been a member state since 1987. ESA's purpose is to provide for, and to promote for exclusively peaceful purposes, cooperation among European states in space research and technology and their space applications.
European Investment Bank (EIB): Space TechEU : The European Investment Bank (EIB) is setting up Space TechEU, its first dedicated financing programme for the European space sector, as part of its TechEU initiative. The space financing initiative was announced in 2025 at the European Space Agency’s Council of Ministers meeting in Bremen.
