ViFDAQ High accuracy trajectory estimation

Short Description

The objective of this project is the development of a versatile device for high accuracy positioning (< 0.5 m), and data acquisition for automotive applications. Based on an existing device designed for measuring accelerations and angular rates on-board a vehicle, a system for coupling these measurements with relative GNSS data and additional sensors is designed.

The aim is to determine a vehicle's trajectory, velocity and attitude by optimally combining the data of all available sensors. Moreover, precise timing is assured in order to assign timestamps to vehicle sensor input which is important for research in the automotive field. The system is designed to consist, as much as possible, of low-cost hardware.
