ESPI Art Talk: Conversation Between Kyriaki Goni and Marlies Wirth

Marlies Wirth, Curator of Digital Culture and Head of the Design Collection at MAK –Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna, joins the S+T+ARTS artist-in-residence at the Euro­pean Space Policy Institute (ESPI), Kyriaki Goni for a public conversation exploring space, Earth observation and digital infrastructures, more-than-human perspectives, emerging intelligences, climate care, and planetary futures.

Content Description

The European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) is excited to host its first-ever Art Talk, an evening conversation between Marlies Wirth, the Curator of Digital Culture and Head of the Design Collection at MAK –Museum of Applied Arts, Vienna, and the S+T+ARTS artist-in-residence Kyriaki Goni.

The event marks an occasion to present Goni’s ongoing project "Sensing the Heat", which explores space technologies, Earth Observation and emerging intelligences. Developed in collaboration with ESPI, as part ofthe EC(H)O S+T+ARTS Residency.

The discussion will introduce the residency framework and delve into the themes of the project, offering insight into the intersections of art, science, and policy. How are art and storytelling contributing to climate care? What kind of shared planetary futures can be imagined and claimed? Can technology development be better leveraged to address these questions?

Target Audience

The event is open to anyone on a first come, first served basis.
