The European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) is an intergovernmental organisation and was founded in 1986.
What is EUMETSAT?
The purpose of EUMETSAT is to supply weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products to the National Meteorological Services of the member and cooperating states in Europe, and other users worldwide. Austria has been a member state since 1993. In 2016, the total budget of the organisation was 532 million EUR, and Austria's contribution amounted to 9 million EUR.
