Short Description
Comprehensive mapping services shall be developed to support disaster and emergency management authorities. Based upon satellite as well as aerial image data, covering SAR, optical and thermal information, rapid data, product and information availability, tailored to dedicated user requirements, shall be assured at various scales, witharticular focus on hydrological disaster events.
Rapid data processing and advanced information extraction functionalities are key objectives of these services. Complementarity and links to existing initiatives like the Copernicus (formerly GMES) emergencymanagement services at European level shall be established. The project also supports the implementation of the "Strategy 2020" for the Austrian National Crisis and Disaster Management (SKKM).
