XMat

The proposed research project XMat shall investigate

• The suitability of an innovative material pairing and contact type for electrically conductive membranes for potential space applications.
• The suitability of an innovative material for long-life wet lubricated sliding contacts for potential space applications.

Research work will be made to define the materials, material pairings and contact type. Then, the technologies will be integrated into a simple demonstrator and tested in thermal-vacuum conditions until end-of-life.

The outcome of the research project is knowledge about the suitability of the new technology for potential space applications and their limitation.
