SenSAP

The project aims at the development and implementation of methods and software for generation of surface albedo products for complex terrain from data of the GMES Sentinel satellite series.

The surface albedo calculations take atmospheric and topographic effects and the bidirectional reflectance at the surface into account and are locally validated with in-situ measurements. Applications of these surface albedo products by the project partners include the retrieval of biogeophysical parameters, regional snow pack modelling, hydrology, and meso-scale numerical weather modelling.

The project contributes to the preparation for exploitation of the Sentinel satellite data for retrieving biogeophysical parameters.
