Particle Accumulation in the JEREMI Experiment: Definition of Necessary Flow and Particle Parameters
Short Description
The JEREMI space experiment on the International Space Station is concerned with particle accumulation in thermocapillary liquid bridges. Numerical simulation of the flow and the motion of suspended particles is used to predict the particle accumulation in the space experiment.
Since a high resolution is required to resolve the fine structure of the three-dimensional rotating flow patterns and to correctly model the particle free-surface interaction, the calculations are carried out on the Vienna Scientific Cluster.
