The James Webb Space Telescope arrived safely at the port of Pariacabo in French Guiana on 12 October 2021, before being launched on an Ariane 5 rocket from the European Spaceport. The eagerly awaited NASA mission was also supported by Austrian space technology from RUAG Space.
